Overview

Once Walmart Canada Marketplace sellers have completed the onboarding process in Seller Center, they can build their Walmart catalogue in several ways.

Bulk Upload Method

Use the Bulk Upload Method to upload many items into Seller Center at once.

  • Full Item Spec - Download Walmart Canada’s Excel template and fill out the required attribute information.

  • Setup Items by Match - Download Walmart Canada's Excel template and fill out required attribute information to match existing items on Walmart.ca.

Single Item Method

Use the Single Item Setup options to quickly set up individual items in Seller Center. There are two ways to set up items individually:

  • Single Item Setup by Match: Search Walmart's existing catalogue for listings that matches your product identifier (UPC/EAN/GTIN/ISBN), verify if it is same product as yours and add your offer details to the matching product.

  • Single Item Setup tool: Add a new item that is not currently listed on Walmart.ca.

API integration Method

This is a standard method of integration with web-based applications; it requires some programming. We recommend choosing this method if you want to publish an extensive catalogue of items on Walmart.ca and have a technical team to support your operations. For more details, see Integration Methods: API.

Feed Processing Time & Data Errors

When you create or update items using UI, bulk upload, or API, submissions are processed as feeds. Most item setups are processed within 4 hours, but in some cases it may take up to 48 hours.

Common error: Data Error

You may encounter the following error when attempting to update or recreate an item that is already in progress:

  • Error Type: Data Error
  • Error Description: “Changes can be made to articles after they have been published or gone through compliance reviews.”

If your item is still processing:

  • Wait for the current submission to complete (up to 48 hours in some cases).
  • Once processing is complete, retry your update or resubmit your item.
  • Check submission status in Seller Center to confirm when processing has finished.
Notes:
  • If an item or SKU is still processing, you may not be able to update the same item until processing is complete. This can occur if the SKU was recently submitted and is still under review.
  • Do not resubmit or replay the feed while it is in progress, even if processing exceeds 4 hours, as this may result in errors or delays.
